Garden Based Learning: Hands-on activities + projects in which the garden is the foundation for integrated learning, in and across disciplines, through active, engaging, real-world experiences that have personal meaning for Students + Faculty. Plantings, seedlings, harvesting, seed saving, demonstrations, plant care + plant nutrition.

Plants On Campus: Having fresh plants on campus for students to see and interact with fosters a higher learning of sustainability. It gives them ownership and a sense of pride. It offers a space for students and faculty with common interests to gather and share tips, ideas, and resources fro projects.

Agricultural Literacy: Learning about where food comes from. Promoting the understanding and knowledge necessary to analyze, and communicate basic information about agriculture with students, producers, consumers, and the public.

Hydroponics + Horticulture: Lessons on using water based mineral nutrient solutions, incorporating indoor planting to combat urban heat to extend growing seasons, including aggregate substrates, or growing media, such as vermiculite, coconut coir, or perlite.

Community Outreach: Campus education, learning and inspiration tools, community garden volunteerism, sharing healthy food and locally grown produce.

Student Leadership: Garden education, entrepreneurship, student driven fundraising, student-run business plans for harvesting market veggies to local restaurants, grant project opportunities, and more.
